SDNB to Host Community Wellness Expo on Jan. 24

The School District of New Berlin will be hosting a Community Wellness Expo on Thursday, Jan. 24, from 5-8 p.m. at New Berlin West High School, 18695 W. Cleveland Ave.

Presented by Orthopaedic Hospital of Wisconsin, the evening will feature a vendor fair with resources to support attendees looking to improve their physical, mental and financial health. The event will also offer a number of informational presentations and workshops presented by local experts.

The presentations will address a number of topics ranging from positive parenting tips, the effect technology is having on our children and society, and mental health-related subjects including a workshop on how to respond to someone experiencing a mental health crisis. The informational sessions will be led by experts from the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Waukesha, REDgen, One Source Wellness & Chiropractic, and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.

“The district has been offering events such as these for our staff members the past several years as a way to support their personal and financial well-being and help them achieve their individual wellness goals,” said Annah Osborne, the district’s wellness coordinator. “We are pleased to expand the event this year to include our greater New Berlin community. We are continually looking for opportunities to meaningfully engage with our parents and neighbors, and this wellness expo is a great chance to open our doors to the community members with the goal of improving our collective health.”

In addition to the resource fair and presentations, each school will be offering a raffle basket as part of a fundraiser to benefit the Education Foundation of New Berlin. Tickets will be available for sale at the expo.

The event is free and open to the public. New Berlin West is located at 18695 W. Cleveland Ave., New Berlin. For more information, including descriptions and times of the presentations, visit: www.efnb.org.
