SDNB Celebrates Student who Earned "Perfect" Score on AP Exam

The School District of New Berlin is proud to celebrate 2022 New Berlin Eisenhower graduate Kayla Sanders for earning a perfect score on a college-level Advanced Placement (AP) Exam in
spring 2022.

Kayla was one of only 369 of students in the world to earn every point possible on the AP Computer Science A Exam.

“Kayla’s accomplishment is a testament to her hard work and dedication to her coursework, and her high level of skill and knowledge of what is a very challenging subject,” Eisenhower principal Matthew Buckley
said. “Likewise, we’re extremely proud of computer science teacher Aaron Chamberlain for his efforts in preparing not only Kayla, but all of his students, for this rigorous exam.

“This is a great honor for not only Kayla and Mr. Chamberlain, but for the entire Eisenhower school community.”

“AP courses and exams are college-level, requiring great focus and persistence among participating students,” said Trevor Packer, head of the Advanced Placement Program. “We applaud the educators
who encourage students to challenge themselves, who motivate and encourage diverse students to achieve their academic potential.”

The Advanced Placement Program is committed to ensuring that students have access to the opportunities they have earned. Students who succeed in AP are not only more likely to succeed in
college, but have the chance to save a significant amount of time and money by earning college credit or placement.

Colleges and universities around the world receive AP scores for college credit, advanced placement, and/or consideration in the admission process.

The SDNB offers computer science pathways at both New Berlin Eisenhower and West in grades 7-12 in the areas of computer programming, cybersecurity, game design, web development and information
technology help desk. In addition to offering two AP computer science courses, students can take a capstone course through Marquette University or courses at Waukesha County Technical College.
